Spider-Man: Brand New Day zooms past Rs 100 crore net in India in 2 days

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has zoomed past the Rs 100 crore net mark in India in just two days of release, trade tracker Sacnilk reported. The film, headlined by Tom Holland and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, was released by Sony Pictures and opened in Indian cinemas on Thursday, July 30, 2026, a day before its worldwide release on July 31.

The opening day brought in Rs 60.60 crore net, with a gross of Rs 71.51 crore, figures trade watchers said placed it among the year’s strongest Hollywood openings in India.

Day 2 collections dipped to Rs 49.35 crore net, down 18.6% from the first day, as the film ran across 16,902 shows with an occupancy of 64.8% nationwide.

The two-day net total now stands at Rs 109.95 crore, meaning the film has already cleared the Rs 100 crore mark ahead of the close of its opening weekend.

The film released in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions across Indian theatres, a wide rollout meant to reach audiences across the country’s major language markets.

Distributors will be watching the weekend numbers closely, since holding steady through Saturday and Sunday is usually what separates a strong opener from a long-running hit.

The film rounds out Tom Holland’s trilogy of solo Spider-Man features made in collaboration between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.

The film also stars Zendaya and Sadie Sink reprising their roles alongside Tom Holland, with the returning cast a key draw for opening-weekend audiences in India.

Trade analysts note that Thursday releases have become common practice for major Hollywood titles in India, allowing an extra day of collections before the traditional Friday-to-Sunday opening weekend window.

Multiplex chains reported houseful shows for evening and night slots in metro cities including Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru through the first two days of release.
