Two suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were killed in an overnight security operation in the Brattal-Sohan and Khubban forest areas of Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The joint operation, named Operation Sohan, began during the night of September 16-17 after confirmed inputs about terrorist presence near Brattal.
The Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF carried out the operation in difficult terrain and hostile weather, making contact with the terrorists late at night.
Arms and ammunition were recovered at the site, with no injuries reported among security personnel.
The operation remained ongoing as of the latest update, with search and surveillance continuing in the area.
Identification of the slain terrorists was still being ascertained by security agencies at the time of reporting.
