WGM Vantika Agrawal’s FIDE rating increased by 61 points to 2428 and she is now India’s third-best female chess player. SRCC student Vantika participated in four international competitions in the last two months and completed her third and final IM model in Budapest. She became the 11th Indian woman to win the International Master (IM) title in chess. She hopes to be selected for the Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China.Vantika became the women’s champion at the Menorca Open held in Spain last month. She also won a medal at the National Women’s Championships held in Kolhapur in January and then won a gold medal for the Airports Authority of India in February. She played in the first match of Team India 2 at the 44th Chess Olympiad last year. In 2021, Vantika claimed the female Grandmaster title, became a National champion, and won gold for SRCC at the FIDE Binance B-Schools Cup.
