Srinagar Airport’s flight hours are cut to an 8 am-5 pm window through July 31, as the Indian Air Force carries out a runway upgrade that began on April 6.
This is a temporary change from the airport’s usual operating hours of 8 am to 10 pm.
About 60 flights, including arrivals and departures, normally operate at the airport each day within the regular window.
The reduced hours are meant to support the runway upgrade, aimed at improving operational efficiency and safety standards.
Authorities have said flight frequency will increase in line with the summer schedule approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation once the upgrade work is complete.
