Sooryavanshi hits 81 as India complete 3-0 T20I series win over Zimbabwe

India finished their T20I series against Zimbabwe with a 3-0 sweep, winning the third and final match by 35 runs at Harare Sports Club on Sunday. Zimbabwe were chasing 193 after India’s 192/5, but ended their innings at 157/7.

The India total was built around Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 81 off 49 balls at the top of the order. The 15-year-old had already impressed earlier in the series, with a maiden T20I fifty off 18 balls in the first match and 20 off 9 balls in the second.

With Sunday’s score, Sooryavanshi became the first batter from a full-member Test nation to record two international half-centuries before turning 16.

Mayank Yadav’s 3 for 29 was the key bowling performance, restricting Zimbabwe’s scoring options and keeping India in control of the match throughout the chase.

The result gives India back-to-back 3-0 sweeps on the tour, having also won the ODI series against Zimbabwe by the same margin.
