Sushil Sureshrao Narole: A Heart That Lives for Humanity

15 Years of Compassion, Selfless Service and Bringing Hope into People’s Lives

Some people spend their lives building their own identities. Others dedicate themselves to bringing smiles to the faces of people who have forgotten how to smile. Sushil Sureshrao Narole, Founder and President of Sobera Foundation, belongs to the second group. His nearly 15-year journey in social work, community development and humanitarian service is a story of compassion, humanity and selfless dedication to helping others.

A Journey That Began with Someone Else’s Pain

Nearly 15 years ago, Sushil Narole began closely observing the struggles of people whose voices often go unheard in society. The financial hardships faced by farmers, the difficulties of poor families, the educational challenges of children and the struggles of helpless and vulnerable individuals deeply touched his heart.

When he saw farmers struggling through difficult circumstances, he began helping them according to his capacity by arranging seeds and fertilisers. Such assistance might have seemed small, but for a farmer in need at that moment, it could bring significant hope. Gradually, his efforts expanded. He started supporting the education of children from economically disadvantaged families, and along with his team, he also tried to provide financial and personal assistance to families in need during important occasions such as marriages.

Through this work, he came to understand that poverty is not merely a lack of money. It often brings broken dreams, weakened confidence and a feeling of isolation from society. That is why his efforts have extended beyond material needs. He has also tried to restore people’s confidence, strengthen their hope and remind them that they are not forgotten.

When Someone Cries, Humanity Should Listen

One of the most emotional aspects of his work involves people who approach him while struggling with personal difficulties. Some arrive with tears in their eyes. Some face financial problems, others experience family crises, some worry about their children’s future, and many have no one with whom they can share their pain.

At such moments, Narole does not limit himself to listening. He tries to understand each person’s situation, encourage them and bring a smile back to their faces. For him, social service is not limited to financial assistance. Listening patiently, encouraging someone who has lost hope and making a person feel that they belong are equally important acts of humanity. He believes that wiping away someone’s tears does not always require money; sometimes, all it takes is a sincere heart and a compassionate attitude.

Standing Beside Those Who Have No One to Call Their Own

Society has countless people who face hardship but have no one who truly understands their struggles. Some elderly individuals live with loneliness. Some families cannot fulfil their children’s needs because of financial difficulties. Others are trapped in circumstances where they urgently need someone’s support.

Narole’s efforts are driven by the desire to make such people feel that they are an important part of society, that they deserve respect and that their problems matter. He wants to ensure that no person feels inferior simply because they lack money, that no child’s dream remains unfulfilled merely because of financial hardship, and that no helpless individual experiences loneliness simply because they have no one to call their own.

Education: Giving Children a Reason to Dream

Narole believes that changing a child’s life requires more than financial help. Children must also have access to education and opportunities to move forward. With this belief, children’s education, women’s education and digital literacy have become important parts of his social initiatives.

He wants children from rural and economically disadvantaged communities to have access to modern education and technology. Efforts are being made to promote digital education, skill development and learning opportunities in local languages. In his view, giving a child an educational opportunity today is not only about improving present circumstances; it is about helping give an entirely new direction to the child’s future.

Sobera Foundation: An Organised Mission to Serve Humanity

To give an organised direction to nearly 15 years of social experience and humanitarian values, Sushil Sureshrao Narole established Sobera Foundation on 18 May 2026. The foundation aims to bring positive change to the lives of underprivileged and vulnerable sections of society. Its focus areas include education, skill development, digital literacy, women empowerment, healthcare awareness, mental health awareness and support for individuals seeking recovery from addiction.

Sobera Foundation is a registered Section 8 Non-Profit Company under the Companies Act, 2013, in India. The organisation also holds 12A and 80G registrations under the Income Tax Act, subject to applicable legal provisions and eligibility requirements. Its primary objective is not commercial profit but the welfare and empowerment of underprivileged, economically disadvantaged and vulnerable communities.

Narole’s dream is for social service to become more than the effort of one individual. He wants it to grow into a collective movement of compassionate and responsible people who come forward to support those in need. He believes that when good ideas and caring hearts come together, the possibilities for meaningful and lasting change become much stronger.

An Invitation to Join Hands for Humanity

The foundation is inviting socially conscious citizens, young people, social workers, teachers, professionals, entrepreneurs and everyone who believes in helping others to become part of its mission. Supporters can help farmers struggling through difficult circumstances, back the education of underprivileged children, stand beside families who need someone during challenging times and extend care and dignity to elderly and helpless individuals.

A contribution does not have to be financial. People can offer their time, share their knowledge and professional skills, volunteer or take part in the foundation’s social welfare activities. Even a small effort can give a child a new direction, reduce the worries of a struggling family or bring hope back into the life of someone who has lost it. Narole envisions Sobera Foundation as a family united by compassion, humanity, equality and the spirit of service.

The Greatest Reward Is a Smile

Throughout his journey, the greatest reward for Narole has never been recognition on a public platform or prestigious titles in his introduction. The most valuable moments are those when a distressed person feels a little lighter after speaking with him, when a struggling family’s worries are reduced, when a child’s education moves forward, when a farmer receives support in difficult times or when a hopeless person finds a reason to smile again.

He does not believe one individual can end all the suffering in the world. He does believe, however, that if every person tries to bring positive change into the life of even one person in need, society can become a better place. His story does not claim perfection. It is a story of continuously striving to become a better human being and making sincere efforts to bring something good into the lives of others.

A Message to the World: Never Let Anyone Feel Alone

The message reflected in his life is simple yet profound. “If someone comes to you in tears, never make fun of their helplessness. Listen to them, understand their pain, and support them in whatever way you can,” he says. A small act of kindness, he adds, could become the greatest source of hope in that person’s life.

His vision is to help build a society where no child is deprived of education, no needy person is deprived of dignity, no helpless individual has to yearn for a sense of belonging and no distressed person feels that nobody cares. Because, in the end, a person does not take wealth, position or fame along with them. What they leave behind are the blessings, memories and smiles of those whose lives they once tried to make happier.
